Paphiopedilum villosum (Lindl.) Pfitzer 1895 SUBGENUS Paphiopedilum SECTION Paphiopedilum Karasawa & Saito 1982

Named after villous meaning having soft and untangled hair; Inflorescence has soft hair present on it.
Distribution:
This is a large sized intermediate to cool growing species. Found growing on humus and sometimes in epiphytic conditions. This species of Paphiopedilum is found distributed from North East India to Laos.

Culture:
Fairly easy to grow and bloom species. Grow in moderate shade. Can be potted in fast draining media. Does well in a bark mix. Forms a large clump within a short period time.

Most of the Paphiopedilum genus requires very less fertilizer compared to other orchids and does well with a lower TDS water.
